Eagle's Nest/Bunker Tour, Berchtesgaden, Germany 05/2009

We went on a weekend trip to Dachau, Herrenchiemsee Palace (Ludwig's), Salt Mine, and the Eagle's nest. The second night we stayed in Berchtesgaden valley, which is another of my favorite spots. Absolutely beautiful! As we were driving in the valley looking for our B & B, I made the comment that to top this off would be to stay in a B & B in the country with flower boxes lining the balconies and windows. So when we arrived it was just as I pictured it--beautiful.

Salt Mine, Berchtesgaden, Germany 05/2009

This was fun. You take a train into the mine. Inside the mine there is a couple of slides, and you take a boat ride. And gives history of the mine.

Schloss Herrenchiemsee 05/2009

King Ludwig's Herrenchiemsee Palace. You take a ferry to an island where the palace is located in cheimsee Lake.

Germknodle, a yummy dessert. A dumpling type dessert with plum jam in center, vanilla sauce, poppy seeds, and powder sugar on top.
